Salman was born in Pakistan and immigrated to the U.S. with his parents when he was 19 years old. He started his work life at gas stations, supporting his family and saving for college. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Dallas and a law degree from Southern Methodist University. After law school, Salman worked in the offices of Haynes & Boone, the largest law firm in North Texas. He went on to found his own firm, Bhojani Law PLLC, in 2015.
Salman, his wife Nima, their two teenage children Aarish and Raisha, have called Euless home for the past 13 years. In 2018, Salman made national headlines when he was elected to the Euless City Council, becoming the first Muslim American to hold elected office in Euless. He went on to become the Mayor Pro Tempore for the City of Euless.
In March 2022, Salman was elected as the Democratic Nominee for Texas House District 92 with over 57% of the vote. In the upcoming November 8th midterm election, if elected, Salman will be the first Muslim and first South Asian ever elected to the Texas legislature; as well as the first person of color ever elected to represent Texas House District 92.
