Call for Election Fellows!

PIVOT is seeking fellows to be a part of our paid 16-week fellowship program from August 2022 - November 2022. This program is designed to increase civic engagement within Asian American and Pacific Islander communities and more specifically, Vietnamese American communities. It is also designed to build leadership and experience for those interested in politics, public policy, and government. Our goal is to build a pipeline of more Vietnamese American leaders in politics.

We are seeking to identify and select PIVOT Fellows to work on the 2022 elections in the following states: Arizona, California, Georgia, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Texas. Fellows will work on a part-time basis up to 20 hours per week with a local non-profit on voter engagement, primarily with Vietnamese and other Asian American populations.

Deadline for applications: Open until positions are filled

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

  • Outreach at community events

  • Mailers and other print outreach activities

  • Digital outreach including texting and mobile apps

  • Coordinating volunteers for door knocking or lit drops (if possible)

  • Provide cultural and other expertise to other organizations

Requirements:

  • Experience with campaigns and knowledge of Vietnamese-American community preferred but not required

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Positive attitude and ability to motivate others

  • Computer or laptop with webcam capabilities

  • Ability to speak, read, or write in Vietnamese preferred, but not required

  • Valid Driver’s License and/or access to reliable transportation
