Join the 2024 PIVOT Postcards Campaign

Personal postcards that are handwritten by volunteers like you have proven to be effective in getting people out to vote.

PIVOT is focusing on likely Vietnamese American progressives in key states to vote on critical issues and we need your help.

How does this work?
PIVOT provides you with a stack of pre-printed postcards and a database of voter addresses. On your own time (or at a local PIVOT postcard writing party), you will then write a handwritten note (that we provide) on the postcards, address them, add postage and then mail them.

How much do I have to volunteer?
You can volunteer as little or as much as you are willing to do. To keep the overhead low, we do ask that you write at least 50 postcards (about 2 hours).

How do I get these postcards?
If you live near one of our hub volunteers in larger cities (e.g., New York, Los Angeles, Orange County, San Jose, etc), you can personally pick up the postcards locally. Otherwise, we can also mail them to you (but require at least 100 postcards).

Who is paying for this?
PIVOT will cover the cost to design and print the postcards. If you can’t pick up the postcards from our hubs, we can also cover the cost of mailing them to you. However, we do ask that you cover for the cost of the postcard stamps themselves (56 or 73 cents per postcard, depending on postcard size).

How do I know this is effective?
PIVOT is working with a partner organization to source these addresses from voter registrations files and filter them by voters that are already likely supportive of progressive values. Studies have shown that these handwritten postcards written by volunteers are extremely effective in getting these voters out to vote.

Which campaigns are we writing postcards for?
We are writing postcards to get people out to vote in the General Election this year, but it might not be the only one. We might also provide postcard campaigns for state elections and down ballot issues. You only need to volunteer for the issues you care about.
