PIVOT Endorses Representative Bee Nguyen in her Re-Election Campaign

PIVOT enthusiastically endorses Representative Bee Nguyen in her re-election campaign. Bee was elected in 2017 to represent Georgia House District 89 after Leader Stacey Abrams stepped up to run for governor, breaking ground as the first Vietnamese American ever elected to the Georgia General Assembly and the only Asian-American woman currently serving in its 236-member body. Drawing from her experiences as a nonprofit leader and community advocate, Bee has proven herself to be a bold voice on behalf of women, workers, immigrants, people of color, and other vulnerable communities. In 2018, she helped defeat legislation that would have devastated immigrant families by mandating statewide cooperate with ICE and played a critical role in severing the City of Atlanta’s contract with ICE. She also helped stem massive voter suppression in Georgia by effectively gutting the “exact match” voter registration law that threatened to disenfranchise thousands of voters of color.
