For many of us in PIVOT who are immigrants or children of immigrants, the news that Senator Kamala Harris, the daughter of an Indian immigrant and a Jamaican immigrant, has been chosen as the Democratic Party’s nominee for Vice President of the United States, is nothing short of astonishing and inspiring.
