Christy is ready to be an advocate at City Hall. From her rich experience with the labor movement in Northern California to organizing her community to promote diversity and inclusion, Christy has dedicated her energy to serving the community and fighting for marginalized populations. She has demonstrated that she is in touch with the needs of the working-class community within Pinole, and she understands the urgency of meeting the moment to ensure that Pinole is livable in the future. With her experience in community advocacy and her experience serving on city and county commissions, Christy brings the knowledge and skills to steer Pinole to a brighter future.

Christy has been a resident of Pinole for over a decade, and she will leverage her education and experience to improve the quality of life in our community by enhancing safety, access to programs and services, and expanding the vitality of our infrastructure. As a parent of a school-aged child, safety, accessibility to programs, and a vibrant infrastructure are personal to her. Christy’s advocacy, dedication to community and local governance, and commitment to the educational system make her the right choice for Pinole City Council.

Her Business Administration, Marketing, and Management Degrees provide foundational knowledge in strategic planning, resource management, and financial oversight, essential for overseeing the city’s budget, allocating resources efficiently, and ensuring long-term sustainability. The practical experience as a business owner and chef honed her problem-solving and decision-making skills, essential for navigating the complex issues facing the city.

Christy’s extensive community involvement - shop steward, founder of the East Bay United Against Hate, former PTA President, Rotarian, Interact advisor, countywide Developmental Disabilities Councilmember, county Women and Girls Commission member, Jordan-Huerta Fellow, and New American Leader alum - has shown her that despite the flaws in the system, advocacy work can drive meaningful change.

As a first-generation Vietnamese American and daughter of refugees, she has navigated life’s challenges with skill and determination. She has dedicated her life to advocating for safety, equity, and building community. As a city council member, she will work tirelessly to create policies that reflect these values, ensuring everyone the opportunity to thrive and contribute to our future.
