Tung Nguyen, MD
Dr. Nguyen came to the U.S. in 1975 at the age of 10 as a refugee. He graduated from Harvard College in 1986 and the Stanford University School of Medicine in 1991. Dr. Nguyen served as Commissioner on President Barack Obama’s Advisory Commission on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPI) from 2011 to 2014 and as the Chair of the Commission from 2014 to 2017.
He co-founded the AAPI Victory Fund, the first SuperPAC that aimed at mobilizing AAPI voters using a data-driven precision approach. Dr. Nguyen is a member of the Leaders Forum, which is dedicated to promoting awareness of the growing social, political and cultural importance of Asian Americans, and to developing pathways for AAPIs to move from private sector leadership to public service.
He also founded PIVOT - The Progressive Vietnamese American Organization whose mission is to engage and empower Vietnamese Americans for a just and diverse America.
